Today in the mail was an envelope from USCIS! However it was not the approval, but a letter requesting more info, of which I am so thankful I have on hand! So that's out in the mail today. This could take up to 8 weeks to process. We then received an email from RR discusssing the upcoming Schedule in Ukraine. They most likely will close for adoptions in November, and not re-open until February. To quote Andrea, it is crucial that we wrap up our paperwork ASAP!
We have scheduled an appointment for Tues, Sept 8, 9:30AM to meet with the adoptions officer at the local Raleigh USCIS office (located in Durham) and ask for expediting of our application. In addition, I was very graciously given the email address of the adoptions officer at our local USCIS office and have just sent off an email.
Our prayer request: that the officer receiving the email will be sympathetic to our case, and that the officer we meet with on Tuesday morning (if a different person) will also be compassionate and sympathetic and do what they can to hurry things along. We are not sure of Morgan's year of birth, if it is 2006 or 2007. If it's 2006, her birthday is in January and there then is the chance of her being transferred to an institution if we cannot get to Ukraine before their scheduled closing. Just asking for you all to intercede with prayers on our behalf to our Heavenly Father... I do believe that intercessory prayer unleashes his great and mighty power according to His will. I therefore can rest in Him and His path for us. Humbly yours, Michele
Can't you just read this and feel that it describes all life?! It is a privilege for me to know Reece's Rainbow ministry, the precious "miracles" that give this ministry purpose, and to share with you my family's "unfolding" as we walk by faith. Thank you for sharing our walk...may you be richly blessed.
